Question #1 : Application on working with highly contaminated soils (5
to 20% of TPH) with dominating heavier fractions of hydrocarbons (e.g..
Tarcrete) |
Answer # 1 :
27 kg TPH/hectare/day or 24 lbs of total petroleum hydrocarbons per acre per
day.
(Top of page 3 of the
FACTs Test)
The final data suggesting that the maximum
rate of loss had yet to be achieved by the end of the test on the 46th day.
So as time increases , the rate of loss will similarly increase.
To answer this question ,
ACT Terra Firma Cleaner ® was applied to
soil from Kuwait oil fields with approximately 24% crude oil by weight.
Huffman Labs did the test, an independent agent brokered through Forensic Applications
Consulting Technologies, Inc (FACTs).To see a detailed report obtained from FACTs please download this file.

Question #2 : Technology functioning in desert soils where the moisture
content are tend to be low with harsh climate conditions (high summer
temperatures followed by low winter temperatures). |
Answer # 2 :
High Temperature
Temperatures for the test were held at 52° C with a relative humidity of 48%
(FACTs Report
page 1 paragraph 4)
Low Temperature
ACT Terra Firma Cleaner has the ability to stabilize and demonstrate
significant survival of bacteria in freezing temperatures. In degrees of
2° to -20° C there is little to no difference
in the colonies growth and has the ability to keep bacteria alive as low as
-69°C (Alaska

Question #3 : Treatment of large areas or volumes of contaminated soil
running into hundred thousand's m3 or Cubic yards or Tons of contaminated
soil. |
| |
|
Answer # 3 :
ACT Terra Firma Cleaner microorganisms have been used on many large jobs,
EPA test sites, and spills by private companies in the United States.
Because of non disclosure agreements and legally binding agreements we
cannot provide exact information as to the names and locations of spills of
most of our clients. We can safely say that we have successfully
bio-remediated over 1,400,000 ft² in 2008 and 2,000,000 ft² in 2009 of
contaminated soil , sand, gravel and other surfaces. Some surfaces were
tilled up to 12 inches due to heavy and deep contaminations. Since 1 lb of
ACT Terra Firma Cleaner is applied to every 100 ft² tilled up to 12 inches in depth,
everyone acre of tilled soil is equal to 43560ft³ of bio-remediated
soil.(43560 cubic foot = 1233.4818376 cubic meters) I.e. every 6 acres
tilled = 6 X 1ft X 43560 ft² = 261360 ft³(Alaska
Test page 25 paragraph
6) (261360 cubic foot = 7400.891025597 cubic meters). We can go into
greater details with EPA Case Studies.
EPA Case Studies :
EPA Testing Case Studies
contains six case studied performed by the Environmental Protection Agency.
We will summarize the results of the case studies.
-
Case # 1 was a 32
acre site with a contamination level of 1500 ppm to 30.000 ppm. This
site was certified as clean within 1 year of
using ACT Terra Firma.
-
Case # 2 was
10,000 yards³ that was going to cost $2,000,000
to haul away, but only cost $132,000 to clean
up using ACT Terra Firma Cleaner.
-
Case # 3 was a 2000
yards³
of contaminated soil that had contaminations
levels of 2800ppm reduced to less than 38 ppm in only
74 days. It also saved $360,000 for the
cost of cleanup and reduced liability.
-
Case # 4 was 1500 yards³
of contaminated soil with contamination
levels of 3000ppm were reduced to only 30ppm in 62
days.
-
Case # 5 involved a spill 38 inched beneath
the surface and 120 feet long. A recirculating ground injection system was
installed following a nine month cleanup program resulting in a
99.5% degradation of the contaminants.
-
Case # 6 is 32,000 yards³
of contaminated soil. This case study
is still ongoing, however, contamination levels
have been reduced from 4800ppm to 125ppm in the
most contaminated areas, and from 1400ppm to below
100ppm in lesser contaminated areas. Download the

Question #4 : Treatment of soil strata beyond 12 inches without
requirement of water. |
Answer # 4 :ACT Terra Firma Cleaner is
able to pull the lest amount of moister to itself in the most dry
conditions. No nutrients are needed to begin this revolutionary
process. In highly contaminated soil, tilling is
necessary, however ACT Terra Firma Cleaner also works on concrete and
other hard surfaces that cannot be tilled . Successful
testing was performed in the
Alaska Test, at -20°C, and 26% moisture
and the FACTs Test for the Kuwait Oil Lake Project shows test results
based on a constant setting of 52°C, 48% relative humidity, with
no water added.

| Important Points |
- Once the microorganisms have become accustomed to their environment, a
growth phase may be observed where the the death rate and new growth rate
of new organisms will be in an equilibrium.
(FACTs
Test page 2, paragraph
3)
- ACT Terra Firma Cleaner formulation is prepared by nationally
recognized Microbiologist, Industrial Hygienist for optimum growth and is
designed for use under the widest possible applications for spills and
spill prevention.
- ACT Terra Firma Cleaner contains the necessary elements to insure
optimal degradation.
- ACT Terra Firma Cleaner needs no water added, however, in the event of
added water, such as rain, rate of loss is increased verses the rate
without water under the same conditions.
- ACT Terra Firma Cleaner has been specifically engineered and
customized for the KOC Oil Lake Project.
- When placed on a contaminated spill ACT
Terra-Firma Cleaner automatically begins to draw the moisture from the
surface of the contamination and activates the microbes, in turn producing
the oxygen and nutrient levels needed to insure a full remediation
process. This eliminates the tedious work of injecting water, nutrients
and oxygen into the soil.
- ACT Terra Firma Cleaner is a USDA Bio Preferred product.
(USDA_BioPreferred
Website - Terra Firma Page)
-
USDA BioPreferred acceptance letter and certificate of microbial
activity (1800 colony forming units per gram)
- Radiocarbon
analysis to determine BioBased content from Iowa State University =
100% Biobased
- US Congress
recommended ACT Terra Firma Cleaner for Deepwater Horizon Response
- MSDS for ACT Terra
